Confluence No. 2: Wild Resonance Concludes — Exploring New Possibilities in Contemporary Artistic Collaboration and International Cultural Exchange Through Eastern Aesthetics

Confluence No. 2: Wild Resonance Concludes
Rooted in Eastern aesthetics, exploring new possibilities for contemporary artistic collaboration and international cultural exchange.
On May 17, 2026, Confluence No. 2: Wild Resonance was successfully presented at TECHNE Gallery in Los Angeles. Jointly initiated by Jianan Liu, Bei Bei, and TECHNE, the event was built around the core philosophy of 'Fusion and Co-Creation, Process as Artwork.' Through interdisciplinary collaborations spanning visual media, music, movement, performance, and space, it offered an immersive experience of contemporary artistic co-creation.
As the second installment of the Confluence art series, Wild Resonance continued its exploration of connecting contemporary art with diverse cultural perspectives through the lens of Eastern aesthetics. Bringing together artists from different disciplines, the project invited spontaneous expression within a shared physical space, allowing art not merely to be observed, but to unfold in real time.
Curated and coordinated by Fang Fang, with support from the East West Cultural Association of America (EWCAA), the event brought together visual artist Jianan Liu, guzheng performer and composer Bei Bei, guqin artist Bin Ma, Kunqu performer Ren Ren, dance artist Rongna Su, cellist Brianna Tam, and participating runway artists. Diverse artistic disciplines flowed, collided, and merged within a shared space, creating a unique and unrepeatable live experience.
The collaborative creation unfolded through eight chapters:
Arrival | Reflection | Expression | Breakthrough | Encounter | Fusion | Release | Flow
Together, artists and audience members embarked on a shared exploration of perception, identity, culture, and the flow of life. The experience began with a moment of silence, inviting participants—through light, shadow, and sound—to return to the present moment and reconnect with both art and their inner selves.

In addition to the artistic collaboration, the event welcomed the participation of brand partners. We extend our sincere gratitude to Jintang Huafu, Xiangrui Qilin, MASAKI MATSUKA, BAModel, and the SINO US Performing Arts Organization for their continued support of the project's growth and development. The involvement of these partners has also helped Confluence evolve into an important platform connecting art, culture, and community.

The event attracted artists, collectors, cross-cultural practitioners, and individuals interested in Eastern aesthetics from Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Some attendees traveled several hours to be part of this unique experience, gathering to witness art as it unfolded in real time. Following the event, many participants shared that they had been 'brought back to a sense of stillness they had not felt in a long time' and that it was 'the first time they experienced art not merely as spectators, but as active participants within it.'

The Confluence founding team shared that the project is envisioned as more than an exhibition or performance—it is intended to become an ongoing platform where Eastern aesthetics, contemporary art, and international cultural exchange converge. Looking ahead, Confluence will continue to invite artists from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across visual media, music, performance, and other art forms. The team also plans to collaborate with galleries, arts institutions, universities, museums, and cultural organizations, expanding from its Los Angeles roots into other cities while exploring contemporary expressions of Eastern culture within a global context.
